Male Red Dovii progress

Hello all. Just showing progress on my male red dovii. First pic is from November 2020 around 2". Other pics are from February 2022 around 8". He has always had a tall body and slender mouth. Looks different than most dovii I've seen. Trying to find a female for him soon.

Nice looking fella. But dang 6 inches in 2 years is not good. I had one at 2 inches and in 2 years he was 14 inches.

Between pics is 1yr 3mos. I dont over feed at all and strictly feed high quality pellets.

Very nice male. How long did it take him to get “tame” with you raising him by himself? I’ve got a group and the two I’ve separated and put alone seem to hide all the time

This fish has always been pretty comfortable with me around the tank since I had got him. I have 3 other blue dovii in other tanks and they are all super skittish and eat really cautiously. I think it is just from having it's own tank and never really having a threat in the tank. Also I feed sparingly so if it sees me it is usually thinking food. Definitely has a different personality than every other dovii I've had.
