Fall River Ma.
my male FH shows no intrest in fetilizing my females eggs. i have 2 females and one male.
i place the first female with him and she laid eggs the never hatched so i figured the male was infertal or some other problem.
I replaced the first female with the second and she laid as well... same issue..
now that second female has laid again and he shows no intrest in fertilizing the eggs.
he is protective over the nesting are and does show compassion toward the female.
I watched her tube drop from a distance and her deposit the eggs.
The males tube never dropped but he did swim in and out of the nest. Does his tube have to drop?
What could be the issue?
I would like to think he is of breeding size anout 7" and both females are about 6".
The females are never in the same tank and out of view of the male when not in the tank with him...
i just dont get it...
advice??? info??? anything???

is he just a zz?
ive heard of some kamfa and kamfa related strains not maturing until nine inches, so that is possible. if he is interested in breeding his tube will drop as well.

well good news he or some1 did fetilize the eggs...his tube never dropped to my knowledge and i dont see anyone else in the tank that has a dropped tube either...but about 75% of the egggs now have lil eyespots in them...the others are either white or infertile.... thanx!!!

maybe he had his tubes snipped lol

hey bro,

is it his second time breeding???? if it is then it will take him a couple time for him to realize what to do. becuase it took mines the ninth try before he realize what to do.

cool guys thanx for the help.... the eggs have hatched i am just hopeful that they are not anything other than FH...lol... i have heard may stories of sneaky males of other species getting their swimmers in the mix...lol
