elow guys.. im new in this hobby.. to start off, i have a 5" electric cat in a 24"x12"x18" aquarium.. i really dont have an idea how to put a set up that would make the catfish feel secure.. once she see's someone, she hides right away.. really skittish.. could you pls help me wd this.. pics would help.. hehehheeh.. thanx a lot and God Bless...

The tank is small, for starters.

I understand they're somewhat shy untill used to their environment.

a cat that size is fine in a tank that size.
but be sure to upgrade.
biggest ive seen in captivity was like 2 feet.
put some driftwood and hiding places for it.
its still adjusting.

that should be plenty enough.
adjusting takes time and depends on the fish.
mine hid from me for the first 3 days only.
then he began handfeeding.
i sold it a long time ago.
i kept it in a setup nearly the same as yours except with dark gravel instaed and only one flower pot and driftwood.

also sir, how is the proper feeding of m.electricus? im leaving 10 sailfins (feeders) last 4 days but still he hasn't ate a single sailfin.. im guessing my fish has a problem.. i don't know what.. could you plss give me some tips regarding on this apecies care?.. that would help a lot sir.. thank you and Godspeed..

how are your water params?
mine ate nearly anything.
theyre pretty hardy fish.

i very sure that my water has no problem at all.. im guessing the problem is with the fish.. im just not sure though.. in my research, m.vats are glutton.. i just don't understand why myn isn't.. i haven't seen her eat since i had her.. im really very worried..

check your ammonia etc.
