Man goes to jail for peeing on Alamo object

Daniel Athens, 23, was sentenced to 18 months in jail Monday for relieving himself on the limestone facade of the Alamo shrine

A Texas man was sentenced to 18 months in prison on Monday for urinating on the Alamo shrine in 2012.

Daniel Athens, 23, is not eligible for parole, and will serve the entirety of this sentence as well as pay $4,000 in restitution, The Smoking Gun reports.

This sounds a little bit too much... mainly the jail time. That costs us money. I think it should have been 6 months and $10,000 in restitution.
