there's been a few programs on tv that showed the construction of this. mega-builders i think. pretty impressive stuff.
 
I think that once the U.A.E. runs out of oil they are going to be srewed. How are they planning on keeping erosion in check.
 
That's what our gas money is doing for the Arab world. Some it anyway. Most of it is reinvested in companies and real estate all over the planet and they make more money in everything else we buy.;)
 
Amazing accomplishment, but I think long term viability is a concern.

My friend goes there a quite often for vacation. The money there is ridiculous.

The reason why they are building all of this stuff is because the oil will run out and they are banking on tourism for revenue.

It is working, the real estate is going fast, and many hotels are building there. Actually, I am glad to see an arab nation moving in a positive direction regarding the end of their oil wealth. Most arab nations will be doomed if they don't change their ways. This will result in turmoil beyond belief.
