Manchata Pikes are supposedly just a lugubris group pike (probably johanna) with a skin disease. I suspect that any pike can develop this disease. In fact, the fish at Mike's site looks more like a Xingu pike and not johanna. It's not a legitimate fish. The body is a "camoflouge" color. Over time these fish just kind of rot away with their skin developing lesions and their fins "melt away". While kind of neat looking they are doomed to death.
AKA known as 'Manchada' , common name 'cadaver Pike'....
Have seen this fish ~ interesting, - but not something I'd want.
Looks like a zombie.......................
Mike has a name for it - - - "Beetlejuice"
Aye, not exactly the best investment to make. I'm curious though, if you got it on meds. and the works, would you be able to fix its condition and save it?
