So i have a pair of jags on a 150 gal. Tank have had them since they had eyes to big for their heads i bought one from a local shop and the other off the internet.... They have spawned a few times and every time they grow like a white mold or they eat them.....

Water change once a week false back tank with fine and course filter element and carbon filters plus two power heads with carbon filters..... Fresh shrimp cichid bio gold pellets... crickets off a pair of tweezers... didn't want them in the water... Crayfish.

Are the power heads hooked to an under gravel filter tray?
For breeding purposes, Bare bottom would be better.
Gravel trays trap bacteria, And fungus. As well as left over food.
Epsom salt (1TSP/10gal) could also help prevent the fungus.

Dilute the Epsom salts in some water first.
Don't know about your new fish,
But breeding Jags are mean SOBs.
