mango vs. goldie

L47 mango pleco vs. L14 goldie pleco. which would you pick?

Mango's are less common than goldies and are perfect for smaller tanks. Goldies are more attractive IMO when they are small (under 8"). Because Goldies grow pretty fast, when provided with the right care, they need a tank with at least 18" in depth. A few weeks ago the store I manage took in a 14" goldie raised in a 55 gallon. Its tail was bent upright because the tank did not offer enough depth.

If your small tank is at least 60" x 18", they can reach up to 13". Your main consideration should be their diets. L047 should have a more vegetable and algae based diet whereas L014 should a meatier based diet.

I would get a goldie... Nothing comes close to a Goldie pleco...

Its the most golden pleco you'll ever see in any of the pleco species... the only other fish that compare to it in terms of beauty is L24,Flame pleco, L25 Scarlet pleco or L114 Leopard cactus pleco...

Mangos are ok, I owned one before, but they do not grow as fast as Goldies...
A Goldie pleco will do fine in a 60 or 90 gallon tank.. as long as its by itself (as a pleco) and plenty of filtration and regular water change..

I have two Giant Goldies myself.. and i have to say that are jewels in my tank.. I would choose a goldie any day..
