Hello, i was just wondering if a Mangrove Jack would be ok with sharing a tank with a Jardini arowana. I've seen some together on youtube. My lil mangrove is arriving at 4 inches in a few days, ill post pics then. Thanks

probably not.. 2 wrongs doesn't make it right.. sorta.. 2 very potentially aggressive fish..

same biotope, yes.. unfortunately for us their biotopes tend to be a little bigger than 6x2x2.. they might be fine until the jar hits 8-10" if the jack haven't snapped before that..

there is always the off chance it works but browse the arowana sticky threads and all the failed attempts to com jardinis.. multiply that by another aggressive fish and your odds are thinning even more.. sure, if you buy 20 jars and 20 jacks you could get a couple that works but the logistics will be hell..

The jar is 8 inches atm, he might not be a problem. He was kept with a school for 3 inch clown loaches recently and didnt seem to mind them. A 4 inch jack might make it especially when there's alot of caves for it to hide in.

since you have already made up your mind I can only wish you the best of luck and look forward to an update of a killer tank in a year..

Never owned a jar but have a jack i got off a mate which he thought he got a mellow one but finally snapped and killed its tank mates. i've been told some can be mellow and some can be agro even at only a few inches. but the one i own and others i've seem are agro. i've got my money on the jack lol
