Mangrove Jack, Pbass and Mantilla/motoro

Bass have spawned a couple times in recent months. Haven't tried saving any fry as they are in a display tank and the rays nail them pretty quickly. Male is a bit of a bunky fish, is blind in one eye (injury) and has a large lump on his lip from an old injury. Nice colours though, so I've kept him as the pair should produce some decent offspring.

I should also add that the MJ is in pure FW.

Great fish, only problem is they are a true solo fish once they hit about 10".

I know what you mean.The jacks I've had we're mean enough before they reached that size...How long have you had it and how big was it when you got it?

I think it has been about 18 months. Got the MJ at about 3-4".

Lived with Malawi haplochromines until it was about 8-10" then it turned nasty.

It used to eat hikari carnivore but they are a bit small now. Mainly assorted chopped up fish fillets, squid, prawns and anything else I find down at the fish markets.

How big is the mangrove? Beautiful fish.
