Any tips on keeping care of a mangrove jack?Currently have one in a tank with 5.5 inch rtc,5.5 inch barramundi,6 inch tiger and albino oscar,4 inch giant gourami.Rn in a 200+gallon tank but dont worry cause i have an empty 15ft x 8ft pond(grandad used to keep a lot iridescent sharks which are native to my country) waiting for these bad boys.

Pretty sure that's a saltwater fish. At least eventually. It might tolerate light brackish conditions they spawn in deep ocean water. Unless there are a couple of fish by that same name......?

The ones from Australia and Asia have been captive bred to be fully freshwater. The wild ones are brackish to full salt.

Not much exceptional care needed except keep the water clean. Feed cut up fish and pellets. Will get big and aggressive. It’ll grow quick too.

They're hardy fish, don't need salt, that's just a myth. Mine's been in full fresh for over 5 years and thriving (approx 50cm). They're not overly aggressive as long as they're not overcrowded and there is some structure and hiding places in the environment. Feed it prawns and pilchards.
