what do yall think about mangroves being used as filtration, I thought about trying it in my 20 gal sw

They work fine.. Just make sure that they are not too close to the lights..and they do take a while to start consuming nitrates.. I prefer macro algae.

I am going to use them in my 90 reef for variety but as stated above macro algae is a good nitrate absorber.

They're cool..but unless huge grow too slowly for nitrate reduction...
