i think floating plants would be good (if you have the place to put them) because they can release waste direct into/from the air

i figure i grow mangrovvs untill big enuf to put in my auctual overflows.

OK, proved me wrong. i have heard they are great in refugiums in sw but never anything about keeping in fresh.
