Mangroves

Im planting my 125gallon brackish setup with mangroves. Does anyone have info on the best way to keep these, such as lighting requirements, etc. etc. etc. ??

moderate light is good they are easy tops out of the tank and a light simple as that

the one i purchased isnt big enough to grow out of the tank yet, its maybe 10-12"... so i guess, just provide light and wait?

I think that the tops need to be out of the eater. I love mangroves. I would love to put one in a Fuge one da. Good luck!!!

where did you get the mangroves, they are illegal to take from the wild, I may have to REPORT you...............................................

I have heard the tops don't need to be out of the water...but im not 100%

I keep red mangroves in my sump. I suspend them by using a sheet of polystyrene (Styrofoam) I make small holes in it, then carefully push the mangrove pod through, so that only the root is submerged. The growing tips MUST be above the water line.
