Where the Parachromis roam...
Ever since i got him he only will take flakes,he has tried cichlid sticks but spits them out,he refuses raw shrimp and occasionally goes after some of the smaller fish (never been successful),is this a healthy diet for him??Any advice is appreciated!!:D

most likely will eventually accept pellets, just keep at it...but if the fish is still small, then high quality flakes are not the worst thing it could be eating

It's not an unhealthy diet.. but it could be a lot better. Try getting small floating pellets and when you normally feed him, put a little flake food and throw in some pellets so he associates them with food. Keep doing this until he starts eating the pellets, try to vary the diet more so he doesn't only get attached to the flakes.

Manny is a Dovii? Do you know what he was being feed before you got him? I'll assume your water params are good and he is otherwise healty because he does eat the flakes, so with that being said I would decide on a staple pellet and feed only that. You should stop feeding him altogether for a few days and drop in a pellet, if he doesn't take it repeat the process he will not starve and will eventually start taking the pellets. Once he is feeding on the pellets for a few weeks you could then introduce other foods into the diet. Pellets are much more economical and will provide better nutrition in the long run. NLS Thera A+ is good it has extra garlic that might get him going. GL

Hikari Cichlid Bio Gold + has garlic to help make it a apealing to carnivous fish. My fish love it.

Starve it.
