I've recently lost nearly all my saltwater fish due to a pump dying on me :( (lost my dwarf lion, porcupine puffer, speckled moray, striped moray and masked trigger)...
anyway now that I have some room in the tank I was thinking about getting a mantis shrimp, probably a spearer, and was wondering if they can be mixed with anything, or if my toadfish would stand a chance with it in the tank:ROFL:.

Mantis shrimp should be kept alone. they will kill anything they think is food. not many saltwater fish will mess around with a mantis shrimp. Even giant pacific octopus most of the time wont go after them, in fact mantis shrimp have been known to kick out octopi from their caves.

what fish are left?
if it was a smasher i'd say you have a chance but not with a spearer...

all thats left is a silver tipped catfish, and four mollies...
dont really care about the mollies, but I'll miss the cat:(...
but I can always find him a good home with one of my friends.
oh, and may I ask what you guys would say the funnest type of mantis is?
I would prefer one that isn't always just hiding. preferably one that will interact with me a little.

peacocks are probably the most active

idk ask 'Fish Eat Fish', he's got one
