Mantis shrimp????

Does anyone own a Mantis shrimp if they do could they post pics or vids of it and answer the following is it true that they can bust glass when they strike. I'm from down under and i'm pretty sure they're illegal to import same as Asian arowana's, datanoids, and everythong else you guys seem to own!!!!

Not a clue on the laws in your country. Even if they are illegal to import they'll be coming in on LR all the time

IMO No then can't.

The examples I have seen in labs were 1/8" standard window glass, and even that wasn't a guarantee break.

I have never seen proof of a mantis breaking aquarium glass.

You may get a better response putting this over in the saltwater inverts section. I have no experience with inverts other than ones that live in freshwater.

Mantis in Hawaii will grow to 10". They might be able to break tanks

These are cool critters! I caught one when walking around on the reef/rocks.
Wasn't huge but not a bad size either!

Initially thought it was a baby lobster/cray. Reached under the rock to grab it and WAMMO!!!
It didn't hurt but I was definitely a little shocked! Happened so fast, didn't know what hit me.....lol

Kinda like touching an electric fence........
