I just picked up a huge piece of manzanita from my cousin, his property is loaded with the trees. The piece is way to big to boil its over 7' long, so how do I make it fish safe?

Thanks for your help

I tried that but havent gotten a response.
Just pressure wash and thro it in if the piece was dry it will float for a while unless you weight it down...

I can wash it, the piece is not dry yet I just cut it off the tree. I wonder if it will float then?

if you just cut it off the tree I would not recommend using it anytime soon. they wood has to be dead and dried out. so give it a year or 2 depending on how thick it is. cause if soaking in the water as it dies it will be like leaving a bunch of food in the tank and have ammonia and high nitrates.
