Turns out turtles are like fish.... once you buy one it’s hard not to get more
My husband and I have been eyeing this girl for a while now. The store finally held her in back and treated her, so I told my husband if he still wanted her then we should get her.
She was sold as a Mississippi map, but I’m not sure if that’s accurate.

She is in with our helmeted turtle Raph and they get along great! That was my one concern about getting her. She’s been eating great, basking regularly, and is very active.
I did notice she seems to have a damaged toe and looks like the nail might fall off. I’m not sure if they dropped a rock on her at the store or how that would have happened.
She’s not in picture perfect shape, but hopefully over the following months she will look a lot better. She is currently shedding so ill take some more pictures once she’s done.
Spring is nearly here and I really hope to put a turtle pond in. I think spending summers outside will be really great for them. Plus will give them so much more square footage to explore
