I been treating an injured fish for a week now and tonight I notice some small brownish object on the glass. I take a look and its a snail. So I was thinking to myself, how did the snail get here from my Shrimp/Snail tank? I didnt use anything the snails might be on. Then it hit me, the sponge filter came from the Shrimp/Snail tank and the snail got in that way. Thing is, whenever I remove the sponge filter I check it and knock off any shrimps or snails on it before I take it out. Somehow a tiny one I guess was hidden in the sponge. For 7 days now its been in a hospital tank thats been getting dosed with Maracyn and Maracyn 2, its managed to survive and grow even. So I guess when Mardel says on their package that its invert safe, they are telling the truth.
If you ever had doubts, heres some proof that its safe. Its a pond snail though so I dont know if its safe with other species of snails. Just thought I'd share my little story
