Marble Achara Catfish tank size

A minimum for almost any fish of 4 times length and 1.5 times width is the lowest most would reccomend. If the max size is 32 inches than thats 10 feet by 4 feet.
Something that I found out about these guys (about an hour after purchase) is that they need a much larger footprint than typical because of their extremely long barbels.
These barbels are typically as long as the fish’s body. They need to have the space in their tank to not touch front and back of the tank with these barbels. Which means 2x their body length plus ad on a rough 4-6” for the width of the head on top of that. They grow extremely fast and would be close to 2’ after about a year.

New acharas
hey folks, I just acquired 2 achara cats for $5 at an auction. I have read a few articles so far about them, including sizes. I'm just wondering if anyone in here has any words of wisdom, advice or cautions. I have them in a 180 and am looking to most likely double up some time next year or so...

What saith thou, bro?Both sensible advice above, each in their own right. I've been saying something like the second advice for the last 5+ years.
But Ken has recently deeply affected my view on these questions, so I'd like to continue to learn from his wise vision for the MFK. What would be the right thing to say?
