Im here down in Socal visiting my bro and went looking around his LFS and saw this guy. Im just tryin to confirm its a marble gar, the tail looks a little off to me so im not sure.

Very clearly a true gar, not a false gar. No adipose fin, rounded tail and not a forked tail. Typical lepisosteus juvenile patterning. Not sure how you can mistake this for a false gar.
