I have a "Marble Gar" and I can't find much information on what it is except that it may not actually be a gar.... What do I have?! I cant upload a picture currently but I will when the site will allow me. He is about 5 inches long with almost an inch long snout. He is black is has alternating black and white stripes running from his snout to tail. His tail is black with white spots. He hovers at the top of the tank and stalks any guppies that come near... It awesome to watch him eat. Please help!

What search engine are you looking through to find your information on your spotted gar? I use google, entering the words "spotted gar" and all types of information come up on it, photographs, too.
It would help all members, who want to help you, if a good photo was posted when the site offers you the opportunity to post a photo. This way we can compare photo's and have a greater chance of supplying accurate info to you.
