This is for all those who claim Marble gobys grow very slow. july 2012 around 2-2 1/2 inches

end of july 2012 about 3 1/2 inches

oct 2012 between 4 1/2- 5 inches

april 2013 7 inches plus

mid april hits the 8 inch mark

mid aug and about 10 1/2 inches fish is slanted in pic and its still 9 inches on the ruler 10 inches easy. All live food and never had a pellet. Ive seen people on here with 4-6 inch gobys after a year. With proper care these fish can grow huge.

I prefer water cows over marbles though. Watercows in my experience dont hide as much, eat more aggressively and are more interactive from what I've experienced. I got rid of my marble because I had to keep him alone so he could get food... he only ate at night and in the morning I would always see blood on his chin or half a goldfish at the surface. He was between 8 to 10 inches. My watercow (which I got rid of cuz I got a C in math) was between 14-16 inches (he was a beast) and ate live feeders only but would aggressively chase them. He was always active and wouldchange colors depending on his mood which was cool because sometimes he looked like a marble goby. He also attacked turtles (red ear sliders) and wasn't afraid of anything and hand fed with the turtles... except he would spit out the krill and turtle pellets and only eat goldfish. Another thing to note was that he prefered rosies over goldfish. Nice marble BTWs I love growout threads :)

Water cows arent more aggressive feeders they are daytime fish MARBLE GOBYS are nocturnal fish with night vision that spend the day sleeping and hunt at night. Two different types of fish simular in looks but very different in habit. A MARBLE GOBY can eat everything a water cow can and then some. I had a 18 inch male that loved to eat baby red ear slider turtles, water cows attemt to eat alot of things but they also vomit alot of things back up(my dorado from jeff rapps and ashortnose gar) because the bite off more than they can chew alot of times. Once it goes in the MARBLE GOBY it doesnt come back out. I like both of them i have 4 MARBLE GOBYS and 3 WATER COWS. MARBLES get much larger and more aggressive most never recive a proper set up and care so never reach full potential. I hae mine cows in with 2 female MARBLES and they rule over the cows with a iron fist had 4 cows big female just killed ne 2 weeks ago. All my goby will feed in the day and hand feed also except the one in this growout will feed in the day but not from my hand yet. Most tanks i see with MARBLE GOBYS have them just sitting out in space these ae true nocturnal fish that thrive off of caves and hollw logs for daytime resting. They inhabit the same waters as giant snakeheads, giant knife fish and asian arows these gobys are one of the things that go bump in the night.
