Marble is a good substrate for stingrays

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Not a good choice. The chips would have sharp edges. Sand would be a better choice.

Would also trap a lot of waste. Sand is a much better option for all species.

Marble has a round profile. I am refering to possible change of water parameters. Thank you

Any gravel is bad for stingrays to live on. Most of their food is really small and can escape easily between the gravel. Also it's harder for them to locate it with the scent of feces under the gravel masking the food. Also they cannot bury themselves which stresses them as well as the gravel is more bumpy and iritating for the ray. Even putting sand on half of the aquarium would be good, like I did for my "5 wide reticulated ray :) if you add different color lights it looks as if it's two biotopes in one!
