I have a marble needle nose fish in my tank with my 2 Oscars. The needle nose is about 6-7 in. long and has been in my tank for about a week and a half now.
He seems to be healthy but in all occasions when i fed them, i have yet to see him eat anything.
I know he is technically not a gar but i wasn't sure where else to post the question at. Any input on food ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

there is no such thing as a marbled needle nose but maybe its a south american gar post a pic and it will help us tell u wat to do

He is very camera shy. But all my pix are in my album. check them out and see if you can figure anything out. It was almost impossible to get a clear pic of the needle nose. I am going to get my buddies digital camera soon, so i can upload a few pictures that are a little clearer.

Thanks appreciate the input

That almost looks like an anostomus, but I can't see him too well. They can be hard to feed. Try tiny feeders or frozen stuff. If it's not an anostomus, check out pikehead crocodile fish and spotted pike characins...sorry I can't tell from the pics.

Someone else mentioned the characins. He has the body of a gar but only has like 4 jagged teeth. Its wierd, he was listed in the store as a marble needle nose fish, but everyone seems to disagree.
