Hi i wondered if you guys could help me, first question is are marble and ornate the same thing as some sites say they are and others have them as two different types (if so whats the difference?) and how big do these little guys grow

I've never heard of a marbled polypterus, so they are most likely the same thing.
Ornates can grow to 24", but usually max out at about 20". All polypterids are slow-growing fish and will only grow about an inch every two months. (sometimes more, sometimes less, depends on the fish, diet, tanksize, environment, etc...)

just had another look around and it seems marbles are another name for palmas, whats the difference between those and ornate?

correct me if im wrong, i think thats a delhezi with no marking. look at my avatar, looks the same right?

Ive got a pic of him, is he an ornate ??
nope not ornate. at first glance it looks like a patternless delhezi, but the number of dorsal finlets is too few. either this is one strange delhezi, or likely imo, it's a hybrid of sort. do you have more pics? either way this is one unique bichir.
