Marbled Achara Cat

The lfs I go to has two of these. I think the latin name is Leiarius marmoratus. Does anyone have any exp with these and how big can they get?

I bought one for my friend that is a little over 2 feet. He is one of the best eaters. He actually prefers non live food (chopped up meats/salmon pellets), but will eat anything. He is a very cool cat that I would recommend.

i had one...died recently. but they are an awesome fish to have, with their masive barbels, full-body pattern, and huge appetites. i definitely recommend it.

i kept mine with a tiger shovelnose, a gray bicher, and a west african lungfish, and i've never witnessed any friction between them. but i'm just a lucky risktaker

Does this catfish do well with some salt in the water?

These are just like your average redtailed catfish.

They get big (about 3 feet), will eat alot, but not aggressive.

These are 100% freshwater fish.

No special requirements other than good water quality just like any other fish need and a BIG tank.
