1) How large would clown loaches have to be to live with these things for life?

2) Can a black ghost knife live with a marbled achara for life?

3) Can a fire eel live with a marbled achara for life?

4) Can a severum and blood red parrot live with a marbled achara for life?

If the marbled achara catfish won't work with these, how about a tigrinus shovelnose? Same questions about the tankmates with a tigrinus instead of a marbled achara.

um, from my own past experience...no, no, and no....my achara's a lil' over 28" at last measurement....he's quite a bit longer than the tank is wide which is 24" wide....I have to think about the trial and error I learned with him, what he won't eat. Went thru many expensive fish, ones who were over $100 and a good decent size with him. Presently, he's fine with the tankmates now, altho the tinfoil barbs were supposed to be my flowerhorns, um, distraction toys and occasional snacks for kitty fish, but only lost 1 of out 6....he went after my 12" bala

basically, as long as the fish is big enough to not fit entirely in it's mouth (which open very wide), and are fast enough...you might be fine. Blood parrots tho, at least the ones I had are too slow. Fireeels, being bottom dwellers will probably be considered as a worm to the achara someday, definitely not clown loaches. They don't get big enough, and are way too friendly (like to groom other fish)

altho with that being said, you may find a strange combo to keep with the achara...I have 2 4" pictus catfish that are considered my achara's "children". He protects them, and has actually spit them out when they interfer with feeding. So, you never know....

well, I didnt comment on theclown knife as I never had one, but based upon them being long and slender, middle and bottom range swimmers, and fairly slow movers, I'd say no.... as for giant goramis, welll, they'd have to be big....

for example....when we first brought home the 12" bala, he was a little sick, but still swam fast. We had to get the achara to release him 3 times. After that, we put the bala in a different tank for several months to heal and grow. The achara grabbed him from the back end all 3 times, and was in his mouth....the bala's currently been in the same tank now with the achara for a couple months doing fine. He learned to not interfer with feeding as he's gotten his head grabbed by the achara

I did have one of my fav fish, a 9 yr old 9" oscar with the achara for a bit as they were together while achara was "growing up". Until, the oscars tail and dorsal fins had huge chunks taken out

Now, the one fish the achara NEVER messed with and actually got beat up by was my now 8" flowerhorn, but they are *mean*

are you thinking about adding an achara to your collection? Or do you already have all of these fish together? If so, what are their approximate sizes?

I was thinking about adding an achara to my collection, but it seems like it would eat every single fish I have.

yeah, like I said before, trial and error...I got the 265g just for the achara...125g community of those I saved from him...etc..etc
