can u guys give my a juvi pic of one please im trying to see if the shark we keep geting in is one but i dont have a juvi pic to know it from.

i am getting extremely confused between the marbled and coral. Several different websites post the same shark. Is it just another name for a coral?

no there diffrent but ya same thing happens to me lol

Nope- the marbled catshark is a different species - but same genus. The Marbled catshark(A. macleayi) is also called the Australian Marble Catshark - because it's native to the tidal pools of north Australia.

While -The Coral Catshark(A. marmoratus) is found in the Philippines, Thailand, & Indonesia.

The Coral Cat is larger (at 27.5 inches) than the Marbled (only 24").

The 2 also differ in appearance. The Marbled is has small gray spots, while the Coral cat has larger whitish spots.

crummy pic from my phone. Note most of the rock is gone as to not obstruct his swimming. Will try to get a better pic as soon as my cam is returned

From comparing your photo to the photo in my book "aquarium sharks and rays" it appears to be a marbled catshark. The color patterns are very, very simmilar but from the look of the eye and the distance from the nose to the eye it appears to look closer to the marbled.
