Alright, I found some nice Calico/Marble Cons at my LFS. I purchased these two in hopes that they're a pair. They are both just under 2" and very healthy. The first picture (what I believe is female) seems to be aggressive over the other (which I hope is a male). Did I possibly end up with two females? Is it normal for the female to be the aggressor at this size?

Pic # 1 female?

Pic # 2 male or female? or too early to tell?

Im going to have to say 1st. Female(see the slight pink in belly) and 2nd male

Agreed. I should also mention that the 2nd pic (male) has longer dorsal/anal fin extensions and a reddish tint to his fin color. My guess is that the female is more aggressive because the male is a fraction smaller than her.

I believe convict femals have red on their bellies and the males do not. Easiest way to tell them apart.

Yes, I'm also familiar with this. I'm starting to think it might be a female though (without the development of the red belly quite yet). His/her fins have an awful lot of color for a fish under 2".

Looks male to me, give him time to grow another inch or two and it'll be easier. And if I'm not mistaking they're Calico not Marbled.
