I got a marbled electric ray about 3 1/2 weeks ago, and have not witnessed him eat. I've tried squid, silversides, goldfish, and tuna. his tank mates eat like pigs which are a 1 1/2 foot banded bamboo and a large 3ft+ white spotted bamboo, who all he does is eat lol! I've asked on my other forum SRC, and no one has had experience, and was hoping someone on here can help. he does swim around as if he's interested and I've tried to use tongs to feed him and push the others away, because he is electric, and im not risking touching him lol. I think he has shocked my other sharks because one second they will be chilling in their cave, and the next they'll dart out and go crazy, but there fine. any help would be vey helpful.

Bad idea on the Night Crawlers and Blackworms - This is a saltwater tank. You are feeding the right foods - I would research the specific temps and parameters that are ideal for this ray, and make sure your parameters match those.

Salmon is my 'go to' food for elasmobranchs that won't eat. The other thing to look at is stress from the other active animals. I've seen rays that tend to be shy stress out around well established tank mates, and the result was lack of feeding.

Also keep in mind they are cooler/cold water rays. A tropical temp might be having an impact on it (stress).

Well I tried live bait shrimp yesterday and when I went to go check on him later at night, I saw that he wasn't buried under the sand and the bigger shark swimming around as if they were looking for food and I didn't see the shrimp and then the ray buried himself and the shark went back in the cave as if he just ate so hopefully the ray is eating, just not when im looking. I was told by the lfs, that he was sold to another person, who returned him because he ate all their fish, and he was kept in warm water at the shop and in the persons tank, and he said he was eating, so he is in my tank which is warm water around 78-80. he does swim around and buries himself and he doesn't look like he is freaking out. ive tried sticking squid right under him,but he dent eat it. and when h was out with the big shark the lights were off. so maybe that has something to do with it?
