My Marbled waling catfish had to go he was 3 years old and had grown to 15". He had lived alone from day one as a tiny 3" specimen. He was so nasty he used to attack the glass cleaner when you cleaned the front of the tank. I have just brought a new large tank and decided to try to see if he could live with another tank mate. Went to the local fish shop and they had got a 16" common Plec for I managed to do a deal and got him for £10, Ali the walking cat didn't take to him from the second he went into the tank, he was chasing him around and butting and banging in to him. The worst was when I got up the next morning, has in the night he has bitten all his fins some down to the bone, 2 days after the plec had developed small blood like blisters on his tail and on a couple of other spots that the other cat had butchered, glad to say that 4 days down the line he is looking much better. Moral of the tail. Sorry about the pun, if you have a marbled walking catfish, keep him on his own. They are shear hell, but a good way to clear out a fish tank. Not that we ever want that to happen. Just hope now that the shop can sell him on for me. So anyone living in South Derbyshire who want the devil incarnate just let me know.
