I have a 55 gal that i inherited with a Marine Betta (Calloplesiops altivelis

) in it. My gf wants a finding nemo tank. Is this fish compatible with a clownfish? Also would a 55 be large enough for a regal tang? If not are there any smaller fish that look similar?

Clowns should be fine with a marine betta.

A regal tang would not be happy in a 55. There are few, if any, tangs that would make a happy home in a 55 gallon tank.

Regal tang should not be kept in anything less than a 125 (72" long variety) in my opinion. You are talking about a fish that gets to be about a foot. Its a grazing herbivore. They cover large distances in the wild, and should be given room to swim in their tank. Even in a 125 that fish will just be doing laps sooner or later.

Tangs for a 55g...scopas or yellow. Even so, I would recommend a 75 or a 90g just to be on the safe side.
