I'm not at my mother's to take a picture to show but my mother is bothering me constantly so I'm making this post to attempt to ease her mind so I can get back to my schoolwork.

My mother is treating her fish in a QT for Marine Ich for the first time. We moved them into QT yesterday and the Royal Gramma had spots, but they weren't too bad, everyone else showed no signs except for the Dragon Sleeper Goby, who had a few spots.

Well today my mother says the Royal Gramma looks terrible, like "someone dipped him in salt". Is it normal for ich to get worse before it gets better? The dragon goby still only slightly shows it but the ocellaris clowns and algae blenny aren't showing signs at all at this point. All are in a 29G QT tank using COPPER POWER as the treatment. We did the directions to the letter on the bottle so dosing was correct.

Couple things here:

1. Yes, depending on where the cycle is as far as ich goes they may be showing up a lot now and falling off. Then you won't see many for a while until the ones that fall off hatch and cause a wave of them again. If you are treating properly with copper you won't have to worry about another wave.

2. All of the fish you are currently treating with copper are sensitive to it and the best treatment is not with copper for them. Please pay close attention to the fish and if they show major duress you will have to stop copper treatment. Formalin baths every couple days for up to an hour are the best way to go.

Thank for the advice!
