Does anyone know the salinity range of Marine plants? My desire is to make a planted refugium tank but the max salinity will be for 1.018 and the lowest 1.012.

Right now the only option I'm hearing is the mangrove tree, but I don't want a tree LOL.

Some plants of interest are the green, red and mixed Gracillaria, the green and red algae plant, the shaving brush plant and the maiden's hair plant.

I can keep my tank at 1.018, but I'm not sure if the plants listed even tolerate salinities that low. Any help?

To the Administrators: I posted this in the plant area, but felt this might be a good place to get anwers as well.

while the mangrove is the only true plant for the marine tank there are tons of macroalgea availible, caleurpa, halimeda, cheato , sea lettuce , and gracilera just to name a few.

Ok, so I'm basically looking at getting a macroalgae refugium. I was also reading that a seagrass meadow may be exactly what I'm looking to have. But of the algae that you mentioned, do you know how low of a salinity they can thrive?
