Marine salt in place of aquarium salt?

Could I use marine salt in my freshwater tanks in place of ( and at the same dosage as) aquarium salt?

The reason I ask is because I wondered if the extra trace elements would be beneficial...

No problem, although there is no need for the extra stuff.

I use it if i am out of aquarium salt.
