Hello,
I have been in the process of setting up a new tank for a month or so now. I have finished the sump and have water in thank but my overflow doesn't seem to be keeping up with my return pump, and I am getting allot of bubbles through the return which makes allot of noise when going into the Sump. I am using an Eheim 3400 Pump. The return is 1.5" except where it goes through the bulkhead and then I returned it to 1.5" all the way to the sump. I am thinking perhaps my overflow tube is too long in the tank as the top of it is only about .5" below the skimmer teeth. I had to make my own standpipe as the kit that came with the tank was for a 150 std not a tall and was way too short. I would post pictures but I painted the pipes black too hide them and can't get them to show up.
Thank You,

Alex

Well I got it figured out, thanks to Youtube. There is a air tubing fitting on top of the stand pipe that is used to adjust the flowrate, counter intuitive but it seems to work.
