Hello, new to the forum. anyone ever set up a marineland 350 canister filter. I started one yesterday and had trouble. I got all the way to start and cannot get the filter to pump the water . canister fills with water but after starting water will not flow, it enters the tubing but does not have enough pressure to pump the water. seal problem maybe?:WHOA:

What do you mean it doesn't have enough pressure to pump the water? How are you determining that?

If it was a seal problem you would hear the cansiter sucking in air and there would be a leak out of the top.

Mine will not self prime on my 90gal, has to be filled with water
there is about 5' of head and it works fine
The impeller is jacked though due to sand getting in
impeller at bottom of canister = bad

I had the same problem. I accidentally left it on one night while trying to get it running for hours. I woke up and heard it making a funny noise and thought oh $#1^ i tuned it off and back on and it worked. Mine filled with water after filling it halfway on its own, the it just would'nt suck. I've read these filters are really awkward and you have to line up the magnets just right. Keep at it, and you'll find a solution. btw mine really does'nt pump 300gph, at least idk. gl
