which is better for a 55g

wow this forum reall y sucks now

To me it would depend on the price. I've had really good luck with Marineland products, but there are a ton of people that swear by fluval. If i were in the market I would probably go for the Marineland because of my past experience with their products unless the Fluval was a much better deal.

im running a 220 on my 30 gal. and it works like a charm. but its also not a 50 gal. thats 20 more its gotta move. And i know those fluval HOB also work very good. this is a hard one. if your on a budget i would run the HOB. Im just hooked on canister and sponge filters

Some people have had issues (mostly leaks) with the Marineland C series filters. The Fluval canister IMO is a better filter and much easier to use.

Fluval recently came out with the new 06 series filters.

true. i was one who experienced a leak. All i had to do to fix it was grease up all my O" rings with some Vaseline and it holds a seal. for some reason they arent including the lube for their O' rings
