I'm looking at selling my 90 gallon saltwater FOWLR and picking up one of these. I have been thinking about getting a 48x48x24. I didn't know they made tanks of similar dimensions. I saw the 36x36x27 the other day at Big Al's in Hamilton, Ontario and I am totally in love. As soon as my tank is sold I am getting one of these and I'm already thinking about stocking choices. I plan on running my Rena XP3 to start and eventually building a sump. I've only gotten so far as to chose 2 fish to stock it with. Ornate Bichir and BGK. What else do you guys think?

do they have a 150 at big als hamilton? the one they had last time I was there was the 200g that is 48x36x27. the one beside the entrance to the fishroom. its a 200 unless they have changed it.

that might be a better choice than the 3 foot 150g version.

the extra foot of length makes the tank look much nicer.

the 3 foot 150's (even though they are super wide of course) look a bit 'stubby' when viewed from the front. its a bit too short IMO.

To be honest I'm not sure if it was the 150 or 200, just aiming at smallest option to make sure I house everything fine. I was there this past sunday, the tank wasn't right next to the fish room but definatly in between the entrance and the fish room. I also want to get a puffer but not really sure what the best one to get would be.

Where in the area are you at? I'm down in St. Catharines so this was my first time to Big Al's in Hamilton, I was in Barrie before so I just went there. Hamilton's is bigger overall but Barrie's is basically dedicated to fish.

I am in burlington. the tank by the pop machine there is a 200g. its a sweet tank.

but either tank will be great, much better than the 90g because of the extra surface area for all your live rock. but you will probably need to add more to make it look good..3 feet of width is a lot.

post pics when you get the beast!

That might be the one...I saw it and just said yes...that will be in my apartment
I'm not sure if I want to keep saltwater, sure it's nice but freshwater is so much easier. Plus I love Bichirs. To be honest I have no clue what will go in it just that I want the tank...lol
I think I've got it backwards, usually its fish first isn't it?
