Marineland Emperor 400-No water pressure

I bought a used Biowheel filter from the LFS today. I got a great deal on it. But the "power bar" produces the water pressure of an 80 year old man. The bio-wheels are not spinning at all. Any ideas?

What exactly would cause the lack of water pressure? I scrubbed down the magnet thingy (I hope I havent lost anyone with my technical terminology) but anyway I scrubbed my thingy and it still did not get any better.

The new marineland filters work great on my other tanks...

you can adjust the jets of water to make the wheels spin faster or lower. Make sure they are adjusted to get optimal spin. It doesn't take much water pressure to spin them.

Then I do not have any water pressure at all...have tried hitting it from every angle...and still cannot make em spin.

Does the water shoot out from the spray bar or just drips? Clean the spray bar and impeller, and impellar housing. I have an Emperor 400 that is 4 yrs old and still running like a champ.

It doesn't drip. But it isn't firing out of there...

I am a social worker, a sports writer for the local paper, but when something needs fixed my wife calls her dad.

Right now...I really want to throw it out into the front yard...

Take the impeller out (magnet thingy) Clean where it was. Use as much preasure as you can. A couple of grains of sand can stop them from working. Give it a shot. If it doesn't work, just throw it over here to IL.

Relax buddy. Send it my way before you toss it in the trash. I see you're only handy with a pen. Do you have any paper clips? Remove the two spraybars and use a paper clips to clean out holes in the spraybars then try again.

I took the whole thing apart and scrubbed the impeller...scrubbed the impeller's little hole...and it shot water like ole faithful...for two seconds...now it can't move the biowheels again.
