as they say on YOUTUBE... first in,,,,,,,:),,,,,,good review , the one thing you didn't mention is that you NEVER NEED to replace the BIO-MAX, JUST an occasional soft rinse:popcorn:

Your second review should demonstrate how you never need to buy those E size blue pads. I still have the ones that came with my second 280 filter 3 yrs ago, lol. I also did the AC 110 bio max in the grey basket, just did not think of the freezing part (good thinkiing BTW), it was a PITA to close but after about 15 minutes and much swearing I managed. Good review, modified Emperors FTW

Thanks for the kind words. The Blue pads are mostly useless, depending on your situation though. For me I will combine this filter with a AC110 with dual sponge, so there will be no need for the blue pads.
 
I would still place something b4 the dirty water hits the bio basket, it collects crud even when you do this somehow. Dont want to jack your thread but if you like I will show you how to turn the blue pad into a washable 100 micron pad, I've had mine for 2+ a.
