Marineland filter pads falling apart?

Has this ever happened to anyone. I know many of us reuse the filter pads. I was cleaning the pads on my emperor 400 and I noticed one of the filters pads had holes on one side of the blue pad after I washed them off.

It's like anything else, the longer you use it the more likely it is to break down. Once it starts wearing down, just go buy a big bag of the cut to fit blue filter pads and use them instead. It's like $6 for a bag.

Well that's what I was planning on doing. I'm not sure how old the pads are.
