anyone ever have any experience with this filter? im hoping its as good as the price tag was. got a great deal on it compared to the price tag my lfs is going out of business, so i picked up the system for $40.

pros, cons on this set up?

I am running one and so far have liked it although I have another Eheim canister on the same tank as well. I use it with the media can instead of the water polishing cartridge and fill it with a ChemiPure bag (I don't like using carbon).

:) Pro:
The media tray is easy to change media and the filter is easy to clean since it's not very large or heavy.

:( Con:
The outlet tube is too short so it blasts the top of the water, the splashing can be noisy.

One of the best filters I've ever had :D

Good flow, good sized basket for media in the canister, and you can't beat the biowheels.

Only downside is it can be a bit of a mess to clean.

thank you for the input. i currently have an undergravel filter and a cascade 300 on my 55 and im planning to move the cascade to a 55 by itself and put the bio pro system on the tank with the undergravel filter. (it is my showcase tank upstairs that all my visitors see) currently stocked with 7 convicts 1-4", 1 venz pike 5", 2 green terrors 3 & 4", 1 firemouth 4", 1 blood parrot 2", and last but far from least (bio-load wise) 1 pleco 12". so i want to have a very well operating filter on it to make sure my water stays crystal clear and has no ammonia with a high bio-load.
