marineland system 12 filter malfunctoins

this is the second time this has happened to me. first the system 3 then the 12. it just stoped sucking up water. what do i do?

i really dont like this filters setups i grabbed a 29 gal because i got a deal but i bought a eheim to use instead but thats not helping you any are you using sand because i grain of sand sucked up will interfere with the impellor motion is it possibe to pull the pump out if it is pull it apart the impeller should pop out rinse it well and stick back in
