Market Shrimp

Is anyone else feeding market (cocktail) shrimp? I finally got my ray to eat shrimp. The experts at Wetwedmedia caution feeding pet fish with shrimp.
Has anyone had any negative experiences?

I would caution anyone not to feed only one thing to their rays. Shrimp are a fine addition to a varied diet. The more types of food you can offer your ray the better.

And like I do in any thread involving a rays diet I would highly recommend looking into fire medics DIY ray food thread. I have really been loving my DIY food experience so far.

i feed it to my rays a cpl meals out of the week, but just like johno27 said, the more things u can get ur ray to eat the better. i good diet i feel is key to long term health, growth. an breeding

what they said. I have my 2 male motoro on a few different things and market shrimp is one of them. I currently have them feeding on bloodworms, shrimp, krill and earthworms of course their favorite. although, my smaller ray seems to eat all of that the bigger ray is a lot more picky and only eats bloodworms and earthworms at the moment.

I've fed market shrimp for years to my rays as part of a varied diet. I always buy it prepackaged and frozen from the local grocery store. The particular brand is farm raised is SE Asia, as most for sale is. You can search for farmed shrimp information on the internet.
I occasionally feed wild caught shrimp from here in the Gulf of Maine, but it is only available from December through March. I did notice the last time in the grocery store a brand of "natural" shrimp marketed by Emeril Lagassi. It appears to be wild caught gulf shrimp. I may try this shrimp soon for my rays.

all my fish love shrimp, my piranhas eat it a few times per week and my bass pick at it sometimes, and my rtcXtsn will eat all he can get. all are healthy, but just mix up the diet a little

My rays LOVE market shrimp! But as johno27 said try firemedic's gel recipe my rays heartily go after it and have from the first time it was dropped in the tank.
