Hello I have a 4 inch female Thai silk FH and I recently moved her into a new tank which is a 55 gallon, behaviour and appetite are fine since the move but I’ve noticed she’s getting some marks on her forehead wondering what it could be? I was thinking the start of hole in the head but it doesn’t look like it too much like other cases I’ve seen, I checked the water quality the only thing is the water hardness is abit high but everything else is in normal range

Doesn’t appear to anything to me. The transition of the scales to the forehead is perhaps slightly opaque. Did the fish ram the net or anything else in its previous tank in the netting process?
If you think the slime coat is damaged in the area in question I would add 1tbsp/5gal salt as a safety measure 👍🏼

Yeah that’s the only other thing I was thinking maybe she scratched herself on one of the flowerpots in the tank a few have sharpish edges

Don’t buy aquarium salt. It’s an expensive gimmick. It’s just regular old sodium chloride. If you’re in the US get this water softener salt from Home Depot or Lowe’s. It’s $8 for 40#’s. I’ve been using it for years without issue. 99.8% pure. Super good value

So just an update it seems to be slowly getting better after a large water change and adding some salt, I actually just noticed this morning that she laid eggs in her flowerpot and is fiercely guarding them so I’m assuming that means she’s good and healthy lol
