Thx. Mark - I finally bought the January issue last weekend (no photo watermarks!)

and a BIG THX. to Oliver/BelowWater for an informative article with some fantastic photos of Rio Trombetas marmoratas in the wild.

Completely true.. my 14" male loves current.. I was experimenting with
Dfferent circulation pumps and with the usage of my largest seio his colors and personality seem to be a little bolder.

Great article, seeing those schools I have to wonder why they aren't imported more often.

Brazil. Thats the main reason. . .that and some people just don't want to buy Crenicichla period. Just until recently (last 15yrs) they have always been the underdogs. Hard to believe but annoyingly true.

Pikes are quickly becoming 'Top Dog' for many cichlid enthusiasts! I'll always consider Frank Warzel and Vin Kutty as being some of the first pioneers raising awareness of these incredible animals. Dr. Wayne Leibel is right up there also. We are fortunate to know Vin and Wayne as friends and fellow creniholics. I like to think our efforts showing primo Pikes at the ACA conventions has helped further people's appreciation, knowledge, and acceptance of these magnificient creatures.

It was Wayne Leibel's article about his breeding marm's and dwarf pikes in AFM back in the mid 90's that got me into pikes!!! Great guy too.
