i did some searching and it seems these fish have been bred succesfully a few times wish i had thought to post links oh well any other lubrigus pikes been bred that anyone is aware of? ive been thinkin of giving it a go its just the stupid fish cost so much to order enough to possibly get a pair may break me. i have thought of buying a large group of the cinctas but its still pretty expensive so everyone keep your eyes out for bargains on Lug. group pikes as i may go in the breeding direction for a challenge

As far as I know they have only been spawned, but none of the eggs ever hatched, so technically they haven't been bred successfully. I haven't read any of the updated articles, so someone might have been successfull, who knows. For the most part though, the only Lugubris pikes I KNOW that have been spawned are sp. 'xingu I' and johanna. Its worth a shot though. Only problem is their large adult size and aggression of the Lugubris pikes. If you can get past that, then you have to figure out what triggers them to spawn, as it seems rather difficult to figure out.

When you said challenge, haha, you meant it.

Here's the only areticle on breeding them that I know of...

Breeding Marmorata Pikes

It resulted in free swimming fry but apparently not sucessful beyond that point.

I haven't discussed his marms with him in a while so I'm not sure. Last we did talk about them they were getiing chummy with each other. I do know that if anyone can get them to breed it's CS.

He's got a pair of Tapajos I as well. Not sure where he's at with those.

just for the record they dont need to be marms any lubrigus will do except maybe venz i think they may be a little big if im not mistaken i was thinkin marms lents any of them really ive got the tank space just need to find the fish so keep your eyes out and wish me luck thanx

I dont think anything is gonna want to breed while being tormented by your mean old jag, even in that swimming pool. Do you plan on keeping them solitary or with just a few punching bag fish?

the silver dollars will stay as will the jag unless he becomes aggro then he will be banished to the sump at the appropriate time i mean it is a 125 gal sump so if they start lookin like they might do the dance and hes bein an a&& off to the sump he goes for a while or i have a buddy with a 180 with nothin in it at the moment im gonna give it a go just gotta get some cash and fish
